Oh man! I've installed a couple laminate floors and getting around doors/baseboards/etc. is always a pain. It's very hard to try to trace around them and then copy it to the floor, especially if you need multiple boards to get around the object. I am installing another laminate floor and this thing is amaaazing! It's so simple to use, simply push the gauge onto whatever you need to get around, lock it (works great!), put it onto the item that needs cut then simply trace and cut it out. Admittedly, the cutting part can still be annoying because you need the right tools in order to make the cuts, but otherwise this takes all the guesswork out of the project! Great little tool!

I wish I had this when I was cutting some trim to run along the baseboard trim, it would have saved me so much time. Easy to use, just press up against whatever you're trying to trace. Some people say that it's too stiff to move, but I don't really think so. Nice variation in sizes as well I would buy again.

I bought this 10' contour gauge for my husband and he loves it! It works great and he will use it for our home improvement projects.

This tool came in handy for my DIY home improvement project. It helped me do accurate measurements and was easy to use. At the beginning it felt a bit loose, but it has special screws to tighten, and special lock to lock it with measurements. Also my 2-year old finds it fun to play with.

Very nice contour gauge, I have had the ones with the round wires however the wires get bent with use and storage, and it becomes a pain to use afterwards. This one seems to solve that problem and also gives you the ability to adjust the tension. There are similar ones out there but do not know if they are deep enough or made with the same quality build as this model. Great replacement for my old wire gauge. After receiving it I tested it out on a few items, door jambs moldings etc to adjust the tension to my liking and now have it ready for whenever I need it, for tiling, wood trim work to make a plaster guide copy the molding profile around curved surfaces. Very happy with this gauge.

If you're looking at a contour gauge, it's because you're tired of measuring, drawing, and/or tracing. it's simple to use, the fins are thin, and this thing is honestly just perfect. I used it to modify wooden trim to fit between a doorway where there's carpet and hardwood. Locks in place perfectly. I've had it for like 3 hours, and it's already saved me at least an hour.
